Goodbye Mob Wife Trend, Welcome Electric Cowgirl

As the winter season comes to a close, you can start to move away from the Mob Wife trend and welcome what I call, the Electric Cowgirl trend. Maybe I’m only feeling cowgirl-ish because of my upcoming move from Sanibel Island Florida into the mountains of Georgia.

Or, maybe it’s from me seeing all the fun outfits people are wearing to Taylor Swift concerts and Beyoncé concerts. Whatever it is, I see a fashion trend leaning towards a country style, but I, of course, couldn’t do it up too simple. Read on to learn about my Electric Cowgirl look aesthetic.

My dog, Minnie Pearl, is always a fashion icon to me

To embody the Electric Cowgirl look (my husband actually named this look after a night club we went to many years ago called The Electric Cowboy in Louisville, Kentucky), it’s about personality too. I’d have to say I think her of being very Dolly Parton-like. The Electric Cowgirl is fun loving and bold and has a great sense of humor. She doesn’t have to be a “she”…it can be an attitude that anyone can have at any age. She’s a kind, fun person to hang out with, loves her friends and family and just loves to have fun and laugh as much as possible.

Being silly is a part of the Electric Cowgirl personality

She looks at life with a positive outlook. She may look sweet, but she knows when to turn on the heat when needed. She has a great sense of business and says what needs to be said when necessary. The look I created as a whole is intended to be more “stage” worthy, however there are bits and pieces that I will wear every day. Here’s what those pieces are and how to style them.

I added rhinestone tights to this look too

Embellished Jackets, Brows and Sunglasses

While I loved my vintage faux fur and overall Mob Wife look I created in early 2024 (I wrote about the Mob Wife trend and you can see it here), the fur will be slightly too heavy for the spring and summer months. So, placed my faux fur back in the closet (though she’ll come out again soon at some point) and replaced it with an embellished jean jacket.

My other dog, Johnny Cash, is also a fashion icon to me with his beautiful white fur

I absolutely love my pearl and crystal jean jacket version I recently purchased and can see me pairing it with summer and spring dresses. I have seen girls wearing it at their own country style wedding too. It would make a great addition to any bridal party or bachelorette party.

Rhinestone brows can be a fun concert makeup idea

As far as embellished brows, you can use some Meron Ad Gem Glue and a wax tipped pencil to glue them to your brows like I did. Again, this look would be fab for Mardi Gras, maybe a Brazilian parade, or a Beyoncé concert. To remove them, I carefully peeled them off one at a time and then used ELF Cleansing Balm to remove the glue. It took a little work, but they came off without pulling out hairs because I was gentle and the glue I used is made for skin.

I made my sprinkle sunglasses with faux sprinkles

The embellished sunglasses trend has been going on for years and years. I created my own sprinkle sunglasses and you can get the tutorial by clicking here.

My mini cowgirl hat on a fascinator I created

Cowgirl Hats

While the glittery cowgirl fascinator I created using a mini hat and rhinestones is A LOT for everyday wear, I can see cowgirl hats being quite fashionable. I actually don’t think they ever go out of style. In 2023, I made an embellished butterfly cowgirl hat out of a thrift store find. See it in the video below or via my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden. Whether you go very simple or over the top, a hat can be fun for many occasions.

Cowgirl Boots

My silver cowgirl boots are incredibly comfortable. I got them on Amazon and they come in many colors. I used to have a leather pair that I loved and wore them to concerts all the time. They wore out and I replaced them with the silver pair. I can see me wearing them with dresses for sure in the spring and summer, then leggings and skinny jeans in the fall and winter.

I love pink lips

Pink Lips

The Electric Cowgirl loves a beautiful pink lip and colorful makeup. If you aren’t wanting to wear blue shadow, at least try to add color somewhere. I, personally, love pink lips and created lots of lip looks in various shades. Learn more about the pink lip gloss brands I love in my lip plumper article by clicking here.

Once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader

Pom Poms

Maybe it’s the former cheerleader in me, but I love a good pom pom. I’ve given them to people when I felt they needed to be cheered up. Though I still have my old maroon and white poms from high school, I love the iridescent pom poms I found on Amazon the best. The Electric Cowgirl cheers on her friends, even if she’s not a formal cheerleader now or never was. I love the idea of supporting others dreams and am thankful for those that continue to cheer me and my creativity filled dreams on. The pom pom is an always will be a symbol of cheering others on to me.
